Alex Martel is the President, Founder and Programmer of Amnesia Rockfest in his hometown of Montebello, Quebec. He started the event at age 17 in his small town of 900 residents. The first edition had 3 bands and 500 festival-goers. Fast-forward 10 years later and it is now the largest rock festival in Canada and one of the biggest in North America, featuring acts such as System Of A Down, Blink-182, Mötley Crüe, Linkin Park, Weezer, Alice In Chains and Snoop Dogg. Alex managed to make several reunions happen at the event, including Refused, Thrice, Satanic Surfers, 88 Fingers Louie, Reset and Despised Icon. Since age 13, Alex has been gravitating around the music industry as a fan, creating friendships with several artists such as Korn and Rancid. Before founding Rockfest, he started in the business working on artist street teams and promoting local shows in college. Alex is also a musician and has toured for many years with the band Deadly Apples before focusing full-time on Amnesia Rockfest.
