Chris Frayer has been the Artistic Director for the West End Cultural Centre, the Jazz Winnipeg Festival and for the last 12 years the AD of The Winnipeg Folk Festival. In his current role he is responsible for programming a year round concert series as well as programming the annual summer music festival that is a multi-staged, 4-day festival featuring over 70 of the best Indie-Folk, Roots and Global music artists on the planet. During his time at the festival he has had artists such as Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Wilco, Ryan Adams, Emmylou Harris and Ray Davies to name a few. In 2008 the festival was cited as one of the top ten festivals to go to by Delta Sky Magazine along side Coachella, Lollapalooza and Glastonbury and last year National Geographic travel put it on its bucket list of events you have to attend. Career highlights include programming the concert for the opening of the Canadian Museum Of Human Rights (2014), producing the first Pixies show (2004) and Arcade Fire’s “Funeral” show at the Burton Cummings Theatre that same year.
