@SongwritersofCa
Ania Ziemirska joined the Songwriters Association of Canada in 2007 as a Membership Services Representative and since has worked her way into the role of Talent Coordinator and Bookkeeper. She is an edgy singer-songwriter, arts administrator and DIY gal who gets both the left & right brain sides of the music biz. Ania holds an Honours BA in Psychology & Fine Arts Cultural Studies from York University and a post graduate certificate in Arts Administration & Cultural Management from Humber College. Although trained in classical piano, Ania mainly writes and performs on guitar echoing a mix between Joni Mitchell and Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders). She has released her debut full band EP, I Was The Girl, in May 2010 and is working on songs for an acoustic release in the coming year. In her spare time she is a Yoga Teacher and Reiki practitioner and enjoys taking photos, cooking, sharing tea or wine with good friends, playing board games and catching local indie shows.

The Songwriters Association of Canada is a non-profit organization run by songwriters for songwriters, professional and aspiring. The S.A.C.'s mandate is to assist songwriters creatively through workshops, concerts, and other events across the country and to help create an environment where songwriters can earn a living doing the work that they love. The S.A.C. continues to offer its online Copyright protection service, The Canadian Song Vault, as well as newer online services include Song Assessments, Song Pitching for various projects and the ability to connect with new collaborators across the country. The Songwriters Association of Canada is highly engaged in important advocacy work to protect the rights of songwriters, most recently with a proposal to monetize music file-sharing.
