Legendary Canadian funnyman Tom Green will bring his trademark brand of off-colour humour to Toronto when he performs his latest standup routine at Yuk Yuk’s on May 9th and 10th as part of Canadian Music Week’s Comedy Fest.
Green, well known for his cable access-turned-MTV hit The Tom Green Show and roles in movies such as Road Trip, has built something of a comedy empire in recent years. He currently hosts Tom Green Live on Marc Cuban’s AXS TV and delivers a weekly podcast in which he interviews an invited guest. His one-hour comedy special, Tom Green Live, premiered on Showtime in early 2013 and is now widely available through Netflix. The comedian also launched the Tom Green Beer last fall in partnership with Ottawa-based Beau’s Brewery. The beer was the winner of the prestigious Collaboration Nation competition at Session Craft Beer Festival in Toronto last June.
Green will take the stage at Yuk Yuk’s (224 Richmond Street West) twice per night on both Friday, May 9th and Saturday, May 10th; once at 8 PM and again at 10:30 PM. Experience one of the great comic minds in the field of entertainment, live and in person, as Green provides non-stop laughter with his brilliantly cracked view of the world around him.
While at CMW, Green will also host the 2014 Canadian Music and Broadcast Industry Awards on Thursday, May 8th at the Kool Haus (132 Queens Quay East). The ceremony will see Green bestowing special recognition upon some of the best broadcasters, promoters, events and industry members from across the country; with award categories such as Best Festival, Independent Record Store of the Year, and On Air Talent of the Year.
