Steve Parker is the President of Media BemBem Inc. The company creates third-party content for Canadian radio as well as offering consulting services to Canadian radio. Consulting services specialize in navigating CRTC radio regulatory issues, new licence applications, Canadian content issues, interpretation of the new Canadian Content Development (CCD) policy and format/music programming issues within a regulated environment.

Over a 24-year career with the CRTC, Steve has spent the last 15 years as a senior English-radio broadcast analyst in both radio operations and policy development. His responsibilities ranged from managing numerous competitive radio public hearing across Canada, advising the Commission on new radio programming trends including the introduction of PPM, new radio format development and the development and implementation of various radio polices including the revised Hits policy, the Canadian Content Development (CCD) policy. Prior to his recent retirement from the CRTC, Steve was actively engaged in the CRTC’s emerging artist initiative.

Prior to joining the CRTC in 1986, Steve was a professional musician as well as President of Parker Libby Productions an Ottawa based company that produced third-party content for local Ottawa radio stations such as CHEZ-FM. Through Parker Libby Productions, Steve also ran an independent record label focused on the Country music format.

Steve is a graduate of the Humber College Music Program (1979) and holds a degree in Jazz/Commercial Music Arranging and Composition.
