Hanson has spent his entire adult life in the radio industry (with the exception of a six-month stint as a graphic designer on the major motion picture “Star Trek: Insurrection”). Starting in high school, Hanson worked at various AM/FM radio stations, including WZUU/Milwaukee, WOKY/ Milwaukee, WLS/Chicago, WDAI/Chicago, and WLUP/Chicago. Subsequently, he was Founder and CEO of Strategic Media Research (SMR), a market research firm respected throughout the radio industry, which he built into a $10 million business.

He holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.
