From the top of Australian Radio and now in Canada with Virgin Radio station in Vancouver; Ronnie Stanton has had success in two continents.
Starting in the industry in 1996 at 4ZR in Western Queensland as a morning guy, he soon became Program Director and learnt much before landing the Assistant Program Director’s job at FM93 in Wagga Wagga, NSW. Then to Darwin again as PD, before returning to Wagga for the relaunch of Star FM as Program Director and morning man. His track record in ratings success started after a move to the larger market of Townsville in North Queensland; where he co-hosted the morning show and ran the 11 station Network Hub as Program Director. There he drove Hot FM was number 1 in key demographics for the first time ever.

In 2001, Ronnie moved to Melbourne to launch Nova 100 as APD / Music Director, and took the station to number 1 in just 15 weeks. From there, he successfully programmed K-Rock and Bay FM in Geelong, also in Victoria before moving home to South East Queensland to launch Hot 91 on the Sunshine Coast. He later flipped Hot 91’s sister station, AAA / Classic rocker ‘Zinc 96’ and paved the way for the relaunch of Prime’s 10 station Queensland network.

His outstandingly successful Sunshine Coast morning show ‘Chrissie and Ronnie’ won a National award for Best On-Air Team in 2005, rating number 1 that year with a share larger than the number 2 and 3 stations combined! In ’06 he was named Australian Program Director of the year by industry magazine ‘The Music Network’ and was also an ACRA finalist for Best PD in 2006 and 2007.

In 2008, he moved to Vancouver Canada, joining Astral Media to flip 95 Crave to Virgin Radio. He is now Operations Manager for Astral Vancouver, overseeing Virgin as well as adult pop classic station AM 650.
