Hal Rood is a managing partner of Strategic Solutions Research, which provides strategic counsel and market research to some of the world’s big brands in radio and TV, including all of the Bell Media radio stations and CTV throughout Canada.

In the US, he advises Lite FM/New York, KIIS-FM and My FM/Los Angeles, and the legendary WGBH-TV in Boston, which provides 1/3 of all public television programming in the U.S.

Before beginning his twenty-year career in strategy and research, in the early 1990s, Hal worked with the US Government’s Voice of America service to help local entrepreneurs in former Soviet republics to start private, commercial radio stations for the first time.

Hal first gained national attention in the U.S. when the college stations he was programming, WJPZ, #1 Women 18-34 in the Birch Radio Ratings and the second-highest share of any non-commercial radio station in America…all with a 100-watt transmitter.

Today, his company Strategic Solutions Research has advised clients in 25 countries around the world.
