James is responsible for the editorial content and leadership of the UK's most listened to digital station, BBC Radio 6 Music. 6 Music celebrates the alternative spirit of music from the 1960s to the present and reaches a weekly audience of 1.9 million listeners. His previous roles include a spell as an Executive Producer for both ABC in Sydney and at Europe's biggest radio station, BBC Radio 2. He has also worked within the BBC's renowned Music & Entertainment television department.

BBC Radio 6 Music launched in March 2002 and is the UK’s most listened to digital radio station. It has a weekly reach of 1.9 million listeners and is one of the BBCs four music radio services, targeting fans of popular alternative music. 6 Music is currently the Sony Radio Academy UK Station of the Year.
