Music Cities Summit: Panel Discussion

Making Space in the Public Realm: How Public Spaces Can Contribute to Scenes and Strategies

Increasingly, cities are examining how buildings controlled by city government can leverage partnerships with the music community to address broader societal goals. From community housing developments to libraries to public radio stations, we'll examine the unique opportunities public facilities provide. These partnerships not only directly benefit the music community, they also are instrumental to neighborhood revitalization, youth engagement and cultural tourism. Leaders from Denver, Seattle, Montreal and Kitchener will address the goals, vision and mechanics of how public facilities work in concert with their local music scene, and how to avoid competition with the private sector. (Open to all delegate pass holders)
