The Toronto-by-way-of-Sarnia, Ontario singer-songwriter's work has appeared on television shows, in films and in commercials but it's the personal tales on his debut full-length album While It's Still Light Out that stand to gain Austin the most notice.
Andrew recorded his 12-song debut album with acclaimed producer Dave Newfeld (Broken Social Scene, Los Campesinos) after a grueling yet productive year in an old 19th century church-turned-recording-haven. "While it's Still Light Out” is now available in stores and online and can be heard regularly on CBC Radio2, Galaxie Radio and SeriusXM Radio.
In the meantime, you may hear Andrew's singing and performing coming from your TV or radio. Some of his television commercial song licensing credits include: McDonald’s, Ritz Crackers, and the famous official theme for Tim Horton's "It's Time for Tim's." Most recently he collaborated with Toronto music collective Grayson Matthews to co-write and perform "Toast this Life" for Alexander Keith's and "Let's Run" for Tim Hortons Sidney Crosby 2014 Olympics Ad, both of which gained immense viral popularity and climbed up near top of the iTunes singer/songwriter charts. He also has countless musical placements on television and in film including Rookie Blue, Textuality, Cover Me Canada, George Strombolopoulis, Over The Rainbow, Being Erica, Saving Hope and The Next Step. Andrew has performed and/or worked with Andy Kim, Ron Sexsmith, Emma Lee, Donovan Woods, Carleton Stone, Slakah The Beatchild and D.O., The Art of Fresh.
In the grand scheme of things, it's all about just doing it for Austin. To go for it now... while it's still light... to make music and and get it heard. And considering how good he actually is at doing this, it's just a matter of time before everyone knows who he is.
"While It's Still Light Out is a sonic opus that seamlessly runs from start to finish and never once sounds as if it a patchwork of songs strung together on an album." David Farrell / New Canadian Music.
