It is summer 2008. The members of what is to become Midnight Romeo decide, after working together for years, to finally create something their own. Chemistry runs deep in the five friends, having already totaled hundreds of shows in various formations. After only a month, four songs appear on myspace. A short while later the band is playing more and more, promoting the independently produced Zebra Zone EP. Their uncommon presence and energy on stage grants them an invitation to play at the √¢‚Ç¨≈ìEnvol et Macadam√¢‚Ç¨¬ù festival with Swedish stars The Sounds.
The show is pivotal and Midnight Romeo is now regarded as one of the biggest hopes of the region.
Early 2010. The band enters an intense creation process preparing their first LP. They meet Steve Nadeau, who ends up producing the album. While working hard on new material, Midnight Romeo keep contributing to the ever growing artistic buzz surrounding the capital. They are awarded a grant by the pro division of the √¢‚Ç¨≈ìAmpli de Qu√É¬©bec√¢‚Ç¨¬ù which is in its first year of existence. The √¢‚Ç¨≈ìRel√É¬®ve en Capitale√¢‚Ç¨¬ù festival chooses LucyD as a jingle to promote its first edition.
May 2011, Telephone, Midnight Romeo√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢s first full length album, is unveiled to a full house in Qu√É¬©bec city. Critics are unanimous: There are great things coming for the band. Throughout the summer, MR multiplies it√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢s appearances. Notable events include: Bivouac Urbain, Grandes F√É¬™tes du Saint-Laurent with Simple Plan and a spot on the Festival d√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢√É‚Ä∞t√É¬©√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢s main stage during the Ampli de Qu√É¬©bec spotlight.
March 2012. Back from Toronto√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢s CMW, Midnight Romeo releases a brand new video for the song Lonely Dancer. The work of Fanny Lefort and Olivier Normandin (Mimosa Media), it generates an immediate buzz online and on Musique Plus√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢ top 5.
Through the years, the band has shared the stage with artists such as The Sounds, Xavier Caf√É¬©ine, Die Mannequin, Simple Plan, Misteur Valaire, Foxy Shazam, Winter Gloves, Yelle and Marie-Mai. The list keeps growing thanks to Midnight Romeo√¢‚Ç¨‚Ñ¢s personality, their powerful stage presence and undeniable chemistry.
