Slacker to Launch Stations Highlighting Slacker Canadian Music Week, Canadian Bands and Artists

TORONTO / SAN DIEGO – December 1, 2011 – Slacker, Inc. today announced that it has signed on as the exclusive title sponsor of Canadian Music Week. Canadian Music Week is a five-day entertainment event in Toronto, Ontario that includes Canada’s largest new music festival, Canadian Music Fest.

Slacker Canadian Music Week takes place March 21-25, 2012. Focusing on the music business, Slacker Canadian Music Week combines conferences, a trade exhibition, awards shows, a film festival, a comedy festival and Slacker Canadian Music Fest into a week-long event. The festival features over 900 emerging artists and headlining acts from 40 countries in over 60 venues around Toronto.

“We’re thrilled to have Slacker Radio as title sponsor of Canadian Music Week,” said Neill Dixon, president of CMW. “They are unlike any radio service out there, connecting fans with the music they love and ensuring that the 30th Canadian Music Week will be the most engaging event yet. This sponsorship extends the reach of emerging Canadian artists across North America.”

As the event approaches, Slacker will launch Artist Showcase stations, unique stations programmed and hosted by bands and artists playing the festival. A 30th anniversary Canadian Music Week station featuring the festival act highlights from over the past thirty years and a Slacker Canadian Music Week station that includes exclusive artist interviews and music from the festival lineup are also planned for launch.
