Scott Helman

Musician and Founder,
Solve the Solvable
Canada
Canadian singer-songwriter Scott Helman returns May 12, 2017 with his debut full-length album, Hôtel de Ville. In 2014, he released “Bungalow” as the first single from his debut EP, Augusta, which led to tours across Canada, playing with the likes of Tegan and Sara, Shawn Mendes and Matthew Good, as well as opening for Walk Off The Earth on extensive tours of the U.S. and Europe. Since the release of Augusta, “Bungalow” has been certified platinum in Canada, Scott has been nominated for two Juno Awards and an MMVA, as well as performing on the national broadcasts of both awards shows. In January 2016, he topped the Teen Vogue list of voices to look out for that year over the likes of Melanie Martinez and Elle King and he rang in 2017 with a raucous tribute to Leonard Cohen, performing “Bird On A Wire” in Cohen’s hometown of Montreal in front of 50,000 people and broadcast live on CBC TV. In 2014, Scott started the online initiative Solve The Solvable, giving his fans a forum to share with one another the charitable deeds they are doing in their own communities.“There are all these big problems in the world and they all need to be solved,” he says. "There are also problems that are a lot more local and solvable. Solve The Solvable is a forum where people can get involved with local, more personal issues and then talk about them and hopefully inspire one another.”
