Edwards PC
Ottawa, ON, Canada
Byron Pascoe is a music lawyer.

He works with musicians across Canada, including to help musicians understand and negotiate the agreements they’re asked to sign. He also prepares agreements that artists want others to sign, and is one of many people on a musician’s team to help them along their way.

More specifically, he helps musicians with record label, publishing, distribution, producer, remixer, mechanical license, band and management agreements.

Along with Ottawa Music Industry Coalition and Capital Rehearsal Studios, on behalf of Byron’s law firm, Edwards PC, Creative Law (www.edwardslaw.ca), Byron co-founded and co-manages the Independent Music Business series (www.independentmusicbusiness.ca) which provides free monthly music business workshops to our capital’s music community. Byron also contributes the legal column to Ottawa's music publication, Ottawa Beat.

Byron is a board member of Ottawa-based independent film collective SAW Video as well as Artists’ Legal Services Ottawa. He’s also an executive member of the Ontario Bar Association’s Entertainment, Media and Communications Law Section.

Byron began his professional career managing a TV and new media production company that produced comedy programming for Canadian and U.S. TV networks.

During Law School, he co-founded the Charter Project, a national education initiative about the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms. He produced public service announcements (http://charterproject.ca/category/video/psa/) about the Charter featuring Canadian celebrities.
