María Claudia López Sorzano is an architect, master in Restoration and Conservation of Ancient Monuments of the Ecole de Chaillot in Paris. She also has a DEA of the School of Architecture of Paris-Belleville. He has spent more than 20 years of his life working for the country's art, culture and cultural heritage.

She was Deputy Minister of Culture (2009-2015) and National Director of Heritage (2003-2009). As Deputy Minister of Culture, she led the national programs of Cultural Coordination, Encouragement of Creation and Research, Cultural Infrastructure and Social Security for creators and cultural managers, among others.

López was a member of the National Committee of ICOMOS Colombia (International Council of Monuments and Sites) and the UNESCO World Heritage Committee. In addition, she has worked as a university teacher at the Javeriana University, the University of La Salle and the Catholic University of Colombia.

The Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports of Bogotá is convinced that art, culture, recreation and sport are powerful tools of social transformation. Through them, it is possible to build community, strengthen the social processes, generate dialogue, inclusion and equity.
