Russell Slater is a publisher, editor and writer of Latin American music and culture content.
His main role is as the founder/editor of Sounds and Colours, an online magazine about South American music and culture with worldwide readership.
He is also the editor of JungleDrums Online, a platform to promote Latin American music and culture in the UK, and regularly works with London-based Latin initiatives such as VAMOS London and Rise Brasil.
His work as a journalist has seen him write for a number of UK publications including Songlines, The Wire, fRoots and Drowned In Sound, as well as having a regular column entitled Sound of the Underground in Time Out Sao Paulo featuring new and upcoming artists from Brazil.
He is the consultant for Oba! Sounds of Brasil!, a documentary about Brazilian music that is currently in production.
Through all of these capacities he has become a prominent champion of new music from Latin America, as well as someone with a vast knowledge of music from the region.
